- Good morning! Hope you guys are still finding ways to laugh - laughing is a necessity!! Ok, so I am zooming tomorrow to go over the plate tectonic notes. Im just going to focus on the three types of plate boundaries. I will demo and then give ya a kahoot. Your assessment is coming soon and it will be a slomo based on the 3 types of plate boundaries. I will probably be assigning your assessment on May 18.... super fun it will be. I will explain way more about it - but heads up - you will be using any food of your choice. I have some examples that I'll show next week too. Playing with food and making a slomo... download the free app and start practicing. Daily Dose had some examples of slomo if you remember.

- Hi Kids! If you were at my last zoom, you might remember me telling you about the precancerous lesion that I am treating on my lip. That was a week ago. The topical ointment that I am using is working, but it has blistered my lip and it is difficult to talk right now and it hurts to laugh/smile. Because of this temporary situation, I am not going to zoom today. I have extended all of your work to be due 5/18. I will hopefully be zooming again on Friday. Sorry about this. And don't worry about me, I am going to be fine. I just wanted to tell you why I won't be able to zoom today - I miss you all so much...

- I think we are going to take a well deserved Break. I am going to tone it down. I would like you to start observing the moon. Just go outside at night and take a good look at it. Full Moon is coming. These "Inside the Earth" notes will be due in 2 weeks. I will not be assigning anything new next week, we are working hard and its getting difficult, stressful and just too much for some of us. So, take a science break. If you did the "Inside the Earth" notes, you are done. If you cant complete these notes, due to tech issues, let it go - just let it go. OK? take a breather. I will still zoom on Wednesday

- Good morning kids:) I think we are at 50 days for SIP. I really hope you are ok and staying safe. I miss you all so much. I know that I told you that we would draw this week, but I need to actually have you guys take notes off my powerpoint. The concept is plate tectonics. The Earth's lithosphere is brittle and is broken up into "plates" that move and have moved for millions of years.
- So, if you can, please print out the notes. These two pages on notes will go on page 120 - 121. (Inside the Earth Notes)
- If you don't have a printer, you'll need to write it into your lab book. After the "Inside the Earth" notes are completed, take a photo and upload into google classroom.
- I made a video to go through the notes - its what I would've said if we were in class. If I go too fast, just hit pause and rewind if you need to go over it again. I hope the instructional video helps.

- Good morning! Welcome to distance learning week #2. I have put some things together for the week and I hope you can handle it!! Of course you can!! I miss you guys so much. This week I am trying to distance teach two simple things this week. One, is an interactive website to give you some more insight on the rock cycle and two, a simple diagram to draw a cross section of earh's layers.
- Ok, so first I would like you to open up and read through (entirely) the distance learning april 27 2020 pdf. This contains all of the instruction written out. You do not need to print it out. It wont go on a page in your lab book, but if you find it easier to print it out - please do whatever works best for you to learn this week :) Underneath this pdf, I have included my weekly instructional video on how to do everything. The files below my instructional video link are what else you need for this week. All of this work is due in one week (Monday). I will assign this work on School Loop and in Google Classroom on Wednesday (you can not turn in the this weeks work until Wednesday, ok?) I need today and tomorrow to update last weeks grades. - I would like to continue our "Oh What a tangled web we weave" work packet. I have a print out of all the sheets from last Friday in class if you were absent. If you were at school on Friday, then we are adding page #108. Look at the table of contents tab to keep your lab book up to date :)
- Please fill out the questions on page 107 and add page 108. You can either write in page 108 like my photo, or print it out. Please try and complete page 107 and 108 today.

- I have uploaded pics from our Earth science textbook. It discusses Biotic and Abiotic factors. It discusses more than that - but lets just focus on Biotic and Abiotic factors. Please read the following pages and keep in mind what biotic and abiotic factors you have right outside your door. This can be in either your immediate yard, or a favorite outside place in nature.
- after you read the following pages, show me your understanding of biotic and abiotic factors. Pick an area (an ecosystem) and take 1 photo of 5 biotic factors and 1 photo of 5 abiotic factors (10 photos total). This can, again, be at your house or wherever you go when you go outside. You can spend 20 minutes on this or you can spend two or three days on this. Just start observing your animal and plant life outside. What kind of birds? where's the water source? ants? spiders? bees? birds? just start observing and take a deep breath. Let the sunshine brighten your day. We will do something with these photos later - but for now, find some good photos. You can take a whole bunch, and then pick your fav 5 biotic and your fav 5 abiotic factors. Don't know what an abiotic or biotic factor is? just read the following.
